Sandwich Builder (Version 1.01)

Built with Game Builder (This tool requires a feature license to use in an experiment)

Sandwich Builder is a "gamified" tool for assessing auditory short-term memory span.

On each trial, the participant must take a drive-thru customer’s sandwich order. The order will consist of a list of 2 to 10 ingredients (e.g., salami, cheddar cheese, mayo, and olives), presented auditorily. The participant needs to remember the sandwich toppings and then build the customer’s sandwich by selecting the necessary ingredients in the correct order.

Sandwich Builder (Version 1.01) is a beta version of the experiment, and may change after validation (McLaughlin & Samuel, in prep). Version 1.01 presents 12 trials, increasing in difficulty after a successful trial or decreasing in difficulty after a failed trial.

Sandwich Builder, and its digital materials, were created/drawn by Dr. Drew J. McLaughlin. Please cite McLaughlin and Samuel (in prep) if you re-use any part of the experiment or art. Most of the materials are available on OSF: https://osf.io/snmqt/files/osfstorage. Requests for additional materials should be addressed to d.mclaughlin@bcbl.eu.
