Statistical structure in rapid sound sequences - Experiment 1

Task requiring the detection of deviant tones in tone sequences that follow either a random structure or are arranged into learnable triplets.

Saff_DeviantToneDetection

Built with Experiment

In this experiment, a frequency deviant is embedded in a sequence of either randomly order tones or tones that a pattern generated using a triplet structure, where tones allocated to a triplet always occur together, but the order of the triplets is random, creating uncertainty at triplet boundaries. For more details see experiment 1 of Milne et al.
