Supplementary material for the OSF preregistration:

Xavier, Y., & Correia, S. (2024, August 1). Accentedness, comprehensibility, and intelligibility in L2 European Portuguese: the effect of vowel quality and nasality. https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/5RKQM

The current experiment is divided into four tasks (approx. 105 minutes):

  1. Nasality judgment task (approx. 30 minutes);
  2. Vowel quality judgment task (disyllabic words) (approx. 30 minutes);
  3. Vowel quality judgment task (trisyllabic words) (approx. 25 minutes);
  4. Ratings on accentedness, comprehensibility, and intelligibility (approx. 20 minutes).

After each task, there is a short questionnaire that helps to gather participants´ feedback on instructions and the difficulty of the questions.

At the end, there is also a short language background questionnaire.
