Description
Built with Task Builder 2
This task is an Implicit Assocations Task measuring participants' associations between homeless and housed people and the traits of competence and incompetence. This IAT uses stock photos of homeless people sitting and rough-sleeping on the street as well as with housed people in their homes sitting and standing. Categories of homeless and housed people (written on images that appear on the left and right of the screen) are mixed and matched with the words competence and incompetence to assess which pairs the participants are more accurately and quickly able to associate. The limitations of this task may be if people have specific biases for people in the photos, such as based on gender, race, or age. A restriction for this task is that people who have experienced homelessness will not fit the participant pool desired to study implicit bias in this study due to their personal experience.
