Before you decide to take part in this study, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please take the time to read the following information carefully and discuss it with others if you wish. A member of the research team can be contacted if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information. Take time to decide whether or not you wish to take part.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of mindfulness compared to stress on attention. You have been invited to take part in this study because you are over the age of 18, understand written English, and have normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing.
You will be asked to complete the following instructions and your responses will be automatically recorded through the online experimental platform. You will:
Please conduct this experiment in a quiet room without any distractions, and you will need ear/headphones to hear any sounds associated with the experiment.
Taking part will not involve any risks to your mental and physical well-being. The experiment should not take any longer than 15-20 minutes to complete.
The results of the experiment will be collected and analysed by the research team and presented in a Principles of Experimental Psychology class.
All results will be aggregated and anonymised. All data will be deleted upon completion of the study. You have the right to withdraw from this study at any point until 2 weeks after completing the experiment.
