Description
Below we present the saved-enhanced memory task where we manipulate the list being saved and test order.

Built with Experiment
In this experiment, participants are presented with two lists of 8 words, List A and List B. After studying both lists, participants are asked to recall as many words as they can. A third of the trials are ListA-saving trials where participants are asked to save List A, another third of the trials are ListB-saving trials where participants are asked to save List B, and the remaining trials are No-Saving trials where participants are not able to save either list. Saving a list means that participants will be able to restudy that list before test. After the study phase, there is a short delay where participants are asked to count backwards in 3s from a random 3-digit number between 200 and 999. They are then prompted to type in the last number they reach in the sequence. Participants then proceed to the test phase where they are asked to recall the words from the two lists. Half of the participants are asked to recall List A items first and List B items second. For the other half of the participants, test order is reversed where List A is recalled after List B. Between trials, participants are given a 'Spot-the-difference' puzzle as a distractor task.
Practicalities. The experiment can be cloned and previewed by clicking on the corresponding options above.
Clone. To clone the separate tasks that make up this experiment, you can first clone the experiment into an existing project, and then clone the tasks directly from the experimental tree. Cloned tasks will appear in the same project.
