This Gorilla repository provides the open-access materials required to replicate the normative study of 108 video clips (categorized into TRICK and CONTROL stimuli). The procedure consisted of a 30-minute self-administered task deployed via Prolific. Each trial began with a 3-second countdown to focus attention, followed by the video autoplay. Immediately after, five sequential questions were presented with a strict 5-second response limit each, separated by 500 ms blank screens. These shared materials allow for full reproduction of the experimental flow, randomization, and precise temporal control of this normative study.
Built with Task Builder 2
The task assessed trick detection (exclusion threshold: accuracy < 70%), intention comprehension (exclusion threshold: 0%), and three 1-10 Likert scales measuring surprise, interest, and curiosity. Strict data pruning discarded participants with a timeout rate exceeding 10%.
