Word-from-string generation task

This study utilized a web-based lexical agility task designed to assess verbal fluency and linguistic creativity under time constraints. Participants were presented with letter sequences and were required to form valid words following specific orthographic constraints within a limited time frame. The responses were recorded along with reaction times and accuracy metrics.

The primary objective of this task was to explore cognitive processing efficiency in rapid word retrieval and construction. The dataset includes user-generated words, response latencies, and performance scores, allowing for in-depth analysis of individual differences in lexical access and creativity.

There are certain limitations to the use of these materials. The task requires participants to have a sufficient level of language proficiency, as it relies on implicit knowledge of word formation rules. Additionally, responses were validated using an external dictionary, which may impose restrictions based on lexicon coverage. The results are also influenced by individual cognitive differences such as processing speed and working memory capacity. Furthermore, while the task was designed to minimize learning effects, repeated exposure could potentially impact response strategies over time.

Sociodemographic questionnaire

Built with Questionnaire Builder 2

This questionnaire collects basic demographic information to contextualize participants' performance in the study. It includes three key items: 1. Age (measured in years). 2. Gender identity (options: man, woman, non-binary, or other). 3. Current region of residence (Autonomous Community).

These variables allow for exploratory analyses of potential demographic influences on linguistic performance. However, the questionnaire does not assess other sociodemographic factors such as educational background or language proficiency, which may also impact the results. Additionally, self-reported data may be subject to response biases, including social desirability or misinterpretation of response options. The questionnaire is designed to be concise and minimally invasive, ensuring ease of completion while gathering essential participant information.

Word generation task

Built with Task Builder 2

This task is designed to assess verbal fluency and linguistic creativity under time constraints. Participants are presented with a set of three consonants and must form valid five-to-seven-letter words by adding vowels while preserving the original order of the consonants. Each word must be completed within 20 seconds before the task automatically advances to the next trial. Participants can also choose to skip words if no response is found.
