Consultations are free - we're happy to chat to you on a call to establish your requirements and propose a solution. There are several key areas to address:
Once we have agreed a way forward, we will provide a written quote for your approval. If you don't want to proceed, that's fine!
If you want to proceed with the work, we require the total fee to be paid in advance of the work starting. If your institution requires a custom invoice split, we can discuss and facilitate that. Once this payment has been made, we will begin work according to the agreed timescale. Our terms and conditions state that you are only licenced to use the work once the payment has been issued, so you will need to complete this step before starting data collection. Any delays to the payment will result in delays to the work, so it's worth factoring in the time it will take to get the payment processed at your end.
We will begin implementation according to your timescale. For smaller pieces of work, this can usually be done in one go, but for larger pieces of work, we will endeavor to get a basic version up and running as quickly as possible so that you can see it as it develops. Where possible, we try to get most of the work implemented while leaving some of your budget available for teaks and refinements.
Once the work is complete, we will share it with you and explain its functionality in full. We will also move onto a feedback stage where we welcome your questions, feedback and requests for any adjustments within 30 days of the project completion. After this time, we will close the project and mark is as complete. If you had any questions after that, however, do not hesitate to contact us - we are happy to help.
Our consultancy rate is £2000/day.
One of the biggest challenges with custom work for academia is being able to provide a flexible scope within a fixed budget. Development of custom new features often requires iteration and experimentation to get it right, but grant funds are fixed. Our solution to this is to work in an agile manner, getting a basic version off the ground as soon as possible, and then iterating from there until the budget is exhausted.
